Paula, Andy & that Piano
Family house move Didsbury to Buxton
Paula and Andy swapped The Marie Louise Gardens on their Didsbury doorstep to surround themselves with the rolling hills of the Derbyshire Dales and sweeping views of the Peak District. Their move was a joy from the start with several deliveries of empty packing boxes and bubble wrap, all the way through to the final arrival of the piano, a super gift from Jean and her muscial family. Thank you Paula for the very kind review, “All items were handled with exceptional care (including the very awkward piano). I would highly recommend Paddy Wagon Removals - they provide a brilliant and friendly service.”
Jean’s Home Baking
Piano Move, Buxton.
All of Jean’s now grown up children were taught to play a fine old family piano that she recently decided to pass it on, for free no less, to a young family who we had moved into the area from Didsbury just the previous day. When we caught up with Jean she was up to her elbows in cake mix baking for her birthday the following day (I was too scared to ask how old). She was making all the favourite cakes of her piano playing kids who would all be arriving to celebrate. And of course she insisted that we sample some. How could we say no?
Tracey & The Cats
House Move Hazel Grove to Didsbury
Tracey made the big move from rented accommodation to her first time buyer home and reduced the stress of it all by using our full packing service. Part of her precious cargo were two very chilled out cats, both seasoned travellers having already flown all the way to Manchester from Shanghai. They both enjoyed the final leg of their epic journey with us on a house move from Cheshire to Didsbury, riding up front in the removal truck.
Mark & Zhi Hao.
Manchester City Centre Removal.
Mark and Zhi Hao are the latest happy additions to the Manchester skyline and as the view from their window shows, they’re not alone. They are absolutely surrounded by towers. We love city centre removals like these…
Ginger Ted.
Business relocation in Leeds.
A rapidly expanding stock range and a last minute surprise change to the premises lease screamed out an unmissable message to Nigel, Company Director of Ginger Ted - "It's Time to Move!" It may well be a blessing in disguise for a growing business but no time is ever the right time to move. We sat down with Nigel and we looked at the logistics and all the implications for his operation. Aiming for minimal disruption we planned a phased removal of stock and storage fixtures and timed the dismantling and rebuilding around his order picking and dispatching requirements so that despite one of the biggest upheavals in the company's history, the customers never noticed a thing.
Sarah & the Boys.
Manchester House Removal.
Chorlton to Stretford.
Working from home, home schooling and a family obsession with high-end cycling took up every available millimetre of space in this Chorlton family house that was quite simply bursting at the seams. A planned move three months earlier had been stopped abruptly by social distancing guidelines that prohibited house moves in all but essential cases. So, it’s no surprise that when the restrictions were lifted they were amongst the first to call upon our services. On move day, with all their belongings carefully packed, Sarah and the boys slipped out of the house to spend the day nearby with family leaving our team to load their life onto the trucks. Both houses had attic conversions, and the second a cellar: we’ve never seen so many stairs (or bikes) in one family home. But by the time the kids arrived at their new house for a chippy tea, all their books, bikes and Lego sets were magically transported to their new bedrooms complete with freshly made up beds. A happy day for everyone – look at those smiles.
Liz McDonald.
Manchester House Removal.
Denton, Tameside to Marple Bridge, Stockport.
Liz’s move revealed the heart-warming story of her dad John Stevenson who recently died, age 95. John spent his whole life in the Denton house (pictured) having been “born in one room and dying in the one next door”. He was an extremely talented engineer who spent the war years in hush hush airplane design teams, often locked away in a secret location near what became Manchester Airport. He was so proud of his fully paid for house that meant he could be the true free spirit that he was and fully indulge his passion for engineering for engineering’s sake. We were blown away by his meticulously cared for engineering and draftsman tools, all of which have been kept in the family and will continue to be used.
